Anika Rose is an American actor and singer. She is most famous for her role as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana was Disney's very first princess of African descent. The film was named her a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American actress and singer. Her most well-known role is playing Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent as in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney named her a Legend in the year 2011. She was also recognized by her part as a character in Dreamgirls (2006) that was awarded an Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. She's also well known for her performance on stage and in particular for her leading roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) and for which the Tony Award Best Musical Featured Performance award was presented to her. and Beneatha Youther, who played the role in the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun (2015) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Play Featured Performance nominated her.
